The question always comes up, which camping cookware to bring when going camping. As a result, that problem is solved with the MSR Ceramic cookware set. First, it’s made of aluminum. So its lightweight and transfers heat really well. Second, a tough non-stick ceramic coating is applied to the aluminum pots. Therefore, they are super easy to clean and are scratch-resistant. In addition, they are PFOA and PTFE-Free, which is nice!

MSR Ceramic Cookware Review
The ceramic surface is crazy slippery. For example, it makes cooking eggs in the morning a delight! In addition, the ceramic coating doesn’t add any weight to the MSR Ceramic cookware. They are constructed of aluminum and transfer heat quickly. Be careful, you can easily overheat the pans. Therefore, you can burn your food, similar to any cooking environment if you are not paying attention.
Since these utilize light-weight aluminum, you can use the premium non-stick pots on backpacking trips using a cookstove like the MSR Whisper Light or JetBoil MiniMo. Also, if you are car camping, the MSR ceramic cookware works excellent with any camp stove like the Eureka Spire LX or Coleman Triton.
Nesting Pots
Besides the ceramic coating, I love how the 2.5-liter and 1.5-liter pots nest together. A single lid has been artfully engineered to work on both the 2.5L and 1.5L pots and has drain holes to strain your noodles, veggies, or whatever you are cooking. In addition, the removable handle is easy to exchange between the 2.5L, 1.5L, or skillet.
Once the cooking is over, and you want to store the pots, it’s time to nest them altogether. Due to their design, place the 1.5L inside the 2.5L and place the lid on the top. Then, flip the handle over the lid and secure the handle around the lid grip. At that point, your pot set is one unit for storage. You can also place cups or other items inside the 1.5L pot to use your space more efficiently in your backpack or vehicle.
Dislikes
One of my dislikes is the size of the skillet. At only 8.5 inches in diameter, you can only cook one patty at a time. But that’s pretty minor. The other thing to watch out for is the non-rubberized area of the handle. Since this area attaches to the pots and doesn’t have any protective coating, it can get really hot.
Common Questions
Question: Will my camping cookstove fit inside the pots?
Answer: That depends. Anything like the PocketRocket or WhisperLite will fit inside.
Question: What’s the difference between aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium pots?
Answer: Aluminum is a great material. It’s lightweight, transfers heat evenly, and with coatings like ceramic make it super easy to clean. Stainless steel is durable but is also heavier. Titanium is lighter than aluminum and great to boil water, but it can be harder to cook real food due to its super-efficient heat transfer and can create hot spots.
Question: Can I backpack with these pots?
Answer: Yes. It’s not the most compact camping cookware system, but you can create delicious meals.
