Like many, I fell in love with the outdoors as a child as I explored the creeks, fields, and dunes around my house. I like to say I had a birth-rite to snowboarding since Snurfing, the precursor to snowboarding, was invented 40-miles from where I grew up and I had an abandoned ski hill down the road from our home.
Since then, I’ve been devoted to helping people have a better experience in the outdoors. I attended college in Colorado based on my love of the outdoors. Then, my snowboarding career took off like a rocket-ship. During that 11-year career, I designed many products for K2 Snowboards, Elevation Snowboards, Dragon Optics, 686, and Dakine. Some of the products had my name on them, others didn’t, but no matter what, I was always trying to improve the gear I used so that people could have the best outdoor experience possible.
After my professional career ended, I transitioned to media and became the publisher of Snowboarder Magazine. During that time, I worked hard to help people discover the best snowboard gear and amazing places to ride through the website and magazine.
I currently live in Park City, Utah, and am still recreating as much as possible. This website is an opportunity for me to apply my knowledge of product design to help people find the best gear, whether they are going car camping, backpacking, mountain biking, skiing or snowboarding, or just spending time outdoors.
We are always in the field. Using the gear locally and around the globe, and are happy to share our thoughts. You can think of us as your personal shopper. We use affiliate links throughout the website to help offset costs. So, please click the links to retailers; it helps us continue to bringing you high-quality gear reviews and recommendations.

I love how Chris shows the actual product in use. I can tell he has used the product and not regurgitating a press release.
